The Wii
Recently, the Nintendo Wii has taken the world by storm. Everyone has one, or wants one. In this article it talks about how the Wii wasn't developed like the ps3 or xbox360. They did not care about how crazy the graphics were like the other consoles. They focused keeping it low priced, and innovative. Some people thought that this was an unorthodox selling approach, but boy are they wrong. The Wii has been outselling its competitors sense January. The other great thing about the Wii is that they make a profit every time they sell one. On the other hand, the other two consoles lose money every time they sell a console, and hope to make it back in high priced video games. Personally, I think the Wii is really cool, and I can see how it is dominating the competition.

This reminds me a lot of my marketing class. Nintendo seems to have taken a very customer-oriented approach when they designed the Wii. What do customers want and how much are they willing to pay?
Microsoft and Sony seem to have concentrated more on a manufacturing strategy. If we build it (well enough), they (customers) will come.
