Microsoft to give away Windows/Office package for $3

Microsoft wants to reach out to people that can't afford your typical software environment. They want to target an additional 5 billion people who aren't up-to-speed with technology yet (primarily developing countries). The $3 dollar software will be called "Microsoft Student Innovation Suite". It will contain Windows XP Starter Edition, Office Home and Student 2007, Math 3.0, Learning Essentials 2.0 for Microsoft Office, and Windows Live Mail desktop. The catch is that the customer must foot the bill for the PC hardware, and the software is only offered through bulk government purchases. There are also many terms and conditions associated with purchasing of the software. Obviously Bill Gates is trying to increase the presence of Windows based PCs world wide by targeting low income countries.
