Are you in the loop?

Who here really reads the In the Loop for Students bulletin? Everybody's CSUSM mail account gets a link to it, I think, once a month. It is also accessible throught the CSUSM homepage.

I think the first (and only) time I even opened the In the Loop e-mail was my first semester at this school. Since then, I've just deleted the e-mails as they have come into my mailbox. I finally opened the e-mail today to see all the upcoming events in the school. A lot of stuff is going on. The job fair was today. There is an event called CLIMB that is going on this Friday. I'm going to take a second to promote CLIMB since it is a great networking opportunity for all students. I've always learned a lot at CLIMB every semester that I go. Check it out!!

Back to what I was talking about... I feel like In the Loop is the only attempt at communication the administration has with the student body as a whole. This point brings me to the recent shootings. A lot has been going on in the news concerning mass communication with students. Alarms and text messages are kinda drastic, but is there any other way to reach the entire student body to relay one message? I keep thinking about it and I can't come up with anything.
