About 16 days ago I bought a book online. I purchased it through "indoo.com" a trusted vendor of Amazon. To make a long story short, the book never arrived. (Don't buy from indoo!!!) I checked the library catalog at CSUSM, but found out that the book was checked out. I searched the San Diego Public Library and found that there were copies all over San Diego. I drove down to the Malcolm X branch, because it is on my way home, and I checked out the book.
The cool thing about borrowing from the public library is that you can return it to any public library in the system. This makes returning books and whatnot very convenient. The Library has all sorts of music and movies that can be checked out also. I hadn't been a big fan of public libraries until yesterday.
Unfortunately, our university courses mainly use newer textbooks that probably can't be found in the public library. However, for doing reports on older books, it's definitely worth looking into. Our school sells the book I checked out for $16 dollars. But I was able to get it for free at the library. I'd rather the $16 for gas money.
Any thoughts?

I agree. I love libraries because they make it easy to get the books you need and it does not cost you anything. I love to read, but I am the kind of person who never likes to read the same book twice. If there were no libraries I would be broke now.
It is almost impossible to find class textbooks at the library, but it is a great place to find supplementary books for classes. I always borrowed the books for my english classes from the library. I saved a lot of money because I did not buy the five or six books that were required reading for each class.
I love libraries, too.
I often donate my old textbooks to the local library, since the bookstore rarely gives me much back. Unfortunately, new editions are published frequently, so chances are they are outdated.
