Who owns a Wii game system? or are you still trying to get one? Here is the answer why you can't find them..

I played the Wii system for the very first time on Christmas eve. Ever since that day, I've been wanting to get one for myself and my boyfriend. But its impossible, because most of the stores are sold out or just waiting for the next shippment. Why is it taking so long to get in? Well, the answer to that is Nintendo want to keep the demand high so the consumer would want it more. But that wasn't the truth, the truth was is the gaming company are notorious for the mismanaging the product and not having enough products. Also, the Wii doesn't feature any outrageously next-gen technology.

I used to consider myself an early adopter. Maybe a part of me still is inside -- I'm just too poor to buy anything cutting edge right now.
Seeing the whole VHS vs. Betamax war left a lasting impression. Fortunately I came out on the right side of that one, but I know a lot of people who did not.
Wii, PlayStation 3, XBox 360. Honestly I'll probably wait until at least one of them gets pushed out of the market, before I invest.
I feel even stronger about Blu-Ray/HD-DVD players. I do not feel safe building a library around either one at this point. Not unless the 2 technologies merge, or one of them drops out.
So how is that crazy Wii controller anyway? I can see how it might be great for a baseball simulation, but how is it for other kinds of games?
BTW, is a console a computer or a video game system? If they made a keyboard available foe it, then what would you think?

I have one and I had to endure the cold and rain on a December Sunday, 2 weeks prior to Christmas. The reason why the demand is so high is because Sony is shooting themselves on the foot with that disaster known as a Playstation 3. High price+lack of games on launch=low sales. The Xbox 360 sales are currently constant and eventually capitalized on the lack of Wiis available and the high price on the PS3 during the holiday season. I bet you saw only Playstation 3 boxes during the holiday rush last year?

"So what's so crazy about the Wii controller anyway? but how is it for other kinds of games? "

I have several other Wii games where it requires alot of interaction like WarioWare Smooth Moves, because the simulation itself is what makes the games entertaining and you can go on to your little world about swing swords with the wii remote.

"BTW, is a console a computer or a video game system?"

Both, since it plays video game discs/cartridges and at the same time is powered by a PC chip and has an internal HD that stores game data and also connects to the internet (Xbox Live).
