The lack of security throughout the Internet continues to grow. I am sure most of you knew this but the fact that Microsoft issues security patches the second Tuesday of every month is news to me. This past Saturday Mircosoft officially released a security advisory in regards to the "vunerability" of Internet Explorer's security. The Trojan Horse virus found another flaw and has been using this to attack Microsoft Windows that date back to Wndows 2000. The main target though was the new Windows Vista. There are free downloads available if anyone is concerned. There are a lot more programs that are vunerlable and if you're interested or concerned you can visit Microsoft's website and obtain patches to protect those other programs as well.
"On Wednesday, security software vendor McAfee Inc. (MFEE) saw a post on a Chinese message board indicating hackers were planning to exploit the hole, which set Microsoft's security advisory in motion."
Microsoft on Tuesday issued an "out-of-cycle" software patch to help stem the spread of a computer virus that was exploiting a newly revealed vulnerability in Internet Explorer.
The as-of-yet unnamed "Trojan horse" virus takes advantage of a flaw in the ".ani" file format, which some Web sites use to change the mouse cursor into an hourglass while a program works, or into a dancing animal or other animation on specially designed Web sites.
The flaw was only publicly revealed last week, but by Friday virus writers were writing malware to exploit it, prompting one third-party security company to issue its own patch, and others to warn PC users not to use Internet Explorer.

Microsoft (MSFT) normally issues security patches on the second Tuesday of every month, a schedule that some security experts say is far too relaxed.
On Thursday, Microsoft sent out a security advisory warning customers about the ".ani" flaw, but the situation had changed by Friday morning.
