High Tech Outsourcing
Outsourcing is one of the scariest words to a high tech employee. Recently this article found that outsourcing is not affecting the high tech employees as much as in the past. The U.S. technology industry added 150,000 jobs in 2006. There is an I.T. employment agency that says it takes 56 days for them to find someone to fill a full time position. It takes 87 days to find an I.T. manager. So, there are plenty of jobs that are still available. They are encouraging people to go after science and math majors, because there are some problems that come along with outsourcing. It is very tough to make it a legal operation, when you have so many foreign employees.

As I have mentioned in the beginning of the semester. There are two different kinds of IT jobs. We are producing the Business IT personnel, who not only understands the technology, but also knows the business side of IT. The linkage is where business value is produced. Such a job can hardly be outsourced. So you are making a right decision to become an IS student. :)
Wow, I didn't realize there was so much demand for IT. I hope this means I won't have any trouble finding a job when I'm finished with school.
