Why is bringing out a new model of the Xbox 360 shooting themselves in the foot???

The Elite will go down the road of the Playstation 3 and it will not sell compare to its cheaper brothers. I do not need that huge HD nor I'm impressed by its HD-DVD Drive. I guess to each their own.
