Google's copyright-protection tool

Google is ready to introduce a new tool that automatically report acts of piracy on its YouTube video site to media owners. The tool is known as "Claim Your Content" will help resolve the issue that google tolerate video piracy. For those who don't know, google is under a high profile lawsuit filed by viacom for allowing viacom's videos on youtube. So, those who are uploading video on youtube, be careful what you put on their.

I wonder how well the tool will work? I guess it's the same principal as a music player application going out and finding the name of an unnamed track that's playing? It looks for audio "fingerprints" in the soundtrack.

Mostly it's going to be major corporations like Viacom and so forth, that will have people that will go YouTube and scour for any content that was posted without consent and just report it.
