Electronic paper !

“Electronic paper”, how about that? According to Fox News while Internet companies are making books available online, E Ink Corp has manufactured millions of parts that makes the Sony Reader tablet. Just like paper, it is portable and foldable and also, the black and white display tablet can be read in bright sunlight or dimly lit room at any angle without the traditional backlit screen. E Ink Corp. is also testing a color prototype that is suppose to launch next year potentially could be used for e-magazines and e-newspapers.

I guess anything that saves on paper consumption could be good for the environment. I have not seen the displays from E Ink, but the screens would have to be better quality than what I've seen from other portable devices before I'd be ready to trade in my book collection.
I would be ready for cheaper, downloaded school textbooks, however. They are just too expensive -- especially since I don't want to keep that many of them at the end of the semester.
