Every year, for the last three years, I've helped record lectures at a family conference in Ensenada, Mexico. Every year we have recorded the lectures by our guest speakers onto cassette tapes. This year I am introducing to them the "new" idea of recording digitally! (Mexico is a little bit behind us in technology so the above reference of "new" technology was a joke).
Anyway, this year there will only be two workshop stations to record from, so I will be using my girlfriend's MacBook, and my iPod to record the lectures. I am purchasing a duplicator, with many features that beat the old system of cassette recording.
Here is a link of the machine I am purchasing. It comes with a 160GB hard drive so it will store and remember the lectures if I need to burn a bundle without inserting a master CD. The lectures are burned onto Cd's and sold to those interested in purchasing them. The duplicator uses a Plextor 52X CD burner, making it able to burn full Cd's in about 4 minutes. Our last system only allowed for six cassette tapes in six minutes.
We will be using iTunes to burn the masters to be duplicated. Next year we are making plans to podcast the lectures making them free for iTunes users to download. We'll include instructions, in Spanish, on how to download iTunes and subscribe to the podcast, all for FREE!
Recording digitally is definitely the way to go. Let me know if you guys have experience, or tips, in digital recording. Any input will be much appreciated.
Thank You,
Uncle Shanky.

Good luck with the conference this year. I know you'll do fine. But STOP COMMENTING ON YOUR OWN BLOG!!!
