GAS?

http://money.cnn.com/2007/04/17/news/economy/refineries/index.htm?postversion=2007041715

Who care about gas prices? if you do, read the article above.

Demand for gas keep climbing. So what keep the oil company from building new refinery.
Well there seen to be a debate whether or not oil company should invest in more refinery. The oil company's concern are: new investment in alternative energy and conventional resource will cut price in half, environmental law in the US make it difficult to build new refinery, the public concern about global warming.

Half the price of a gallon of gas goes to the federal government. The government makes more on gas than the oil companies do.

I agree with ramez. On the local news I often see the reporters breaking down the price of gas into how much is the actual gas and how much is city, state, and federal taxes.

California has one of the highest average gas prices in the country because taxes are over $0.60 of every dollar we purchase. The only other states in the country that are close to us are New York and Hawaii. Check out the webiste below to see how other states stack up.

The reason we pay so many taxes is mainly to protect the environment. Now the Governor wants to add on more taxes. When are the citizens of California going to say enough is enough.
